The Arveyron Open House, a delicious setting in the middle of nature
Another beautiful rediscovery in Chamonix! The mythical hotel-restaurant nestled on the cross-country ski trails is writing the pages of a new history. The current team of the Arveyron, young and dynamic, is having a blast in the kitchen as well as on the terrace. Surprising restaurant, here, one is surprised to be ecstatic in front of the sight, but also its plate. And given their motivation, we have not finished being surprised! L’Arveyron opens the doors of their “house” to you.

The large sunny terrace
I can only begin by telling you about the terrace. On foot, on cross-country skis or by bike, when you pass by it, it attracts you like a magnet. Its deckchairs, its plaids on the seats, we already imagine ourselves there, feet in the snow, face in the sun, sipping a coffee.
Long story short, when you pass by, all you can think about is speeding up, finishing your loop in the woods to get on that beautiful deck faster. The question is, what will I have? Drink a glass of wine, enjoy one of their house beers, the Arpitan or comfort myself with a hot drink? And if I finally let myself be tempted by a lunch or a cocktail?
A most original menu
Savoyard specialties revisited
At lunchtime, the kitchen team redoubles its ingenuity by revisiting classic Savoyard specialties. Marine and Virgil, both passionate about their work, break the codes of traditional food preparation.
Everything is homemade and the result is unique! What audacity to present a raclette as a poke bowl or a tartiflette on a skewer! The worst is that it works, we love it!
The marriage of flavors and presentation on the plate gives me the impression of tasting a traditional French cuisine while being unusual, gastronomic, but casual and copious… We are so amazed by the dishes that the words to describe them clash in my head. On the other hand, it is the size of my stomach which shocks afterwards, this last having made jump my button of pants…
For dinner, l’Arveyron offers a slate menu
After lunch and the delicious pancakes and waffles for the afternoon snack, make way for a gourmet and innovative dinner. In the evening, in the wooded restaurant room, we offer you a cuisine of revisited classics. Italian-style marrow bones, red onion tart Tatin, pork rib confit with maple syrup or trout gravlax with red fruits will excite your taste buds! The menu changes regularly, according to the seasons, the fresh products and the countless ideas of the Chefs. Everything is delicious, you can’t miss this surprising culinary experience!
A playground for ideas
As I said, the young team that took over the Arveyron wants to revitalize the place and welcome both locals and holidaymakers. Indeed, it is a family hotel, but nothing prevents “outsiders” from coming to spend a good time in this historic chalet-hotel.
This jewel in the heart of the forest has vast spaces surrounding the establishment. Stay tuned, because this summer you could spend a lot of time in this good address. It is said that the gardens of Arveyron will provide a petanque field, Mölkki, ping-pong, games for children…). Good Sunday in perspective, and why not birthdays?
I’m not going to tell you everything, we’ll come back to that. In the meantime, the Arveyron Open House is open every day, so there are plenty of excuses to discover this addictive place!
