The Planards recreational area offers multi-slide activities all year round. In winter, the area represents a nice alternative to skiing at altitude since its skiable area is located 5 minutes from downtown.
Whether you are a skier, a pedestrian, a family, a sledder, or just want to explore, here are 4 other activities in Chamonix that you should enjoy.
#2 The multi-slide ski area
There is no need to go to altitude with Les Planards to enjoy the pleasures of skiing. Beginners or intermediates, this ski area has 4 runs for all levels. 1300 m of slopes distributed as follows:
- 2 easy chairlifts serve green runs, including a baby one to do like the grown-ups from a young age.
- 1 four-seater chairlift leading to the start of a long blue run and a red run.
# 3 The Snooc
What is this activity! Snooc? Bless you, you’ll tell me! Well, it’s a pretty good alternative to skiing if you know what I mean…
If, like me, you never know how to carry your skis, you think they’re too heavy and all that gear is weighing you down, the snooc is for you! (And for you too anyway, extreme skier) 😉
When you arrive at Les Planards, you go to the snooc area. There, the team will brief you and make you test it for free. And off you go on the slopes with the 1 lift or 1 hour packages (prices on the website)
No need to be an expert skier, between sledding and skiing, you can practice this activity from 10 years old. Snooc doesn’t require much equipment: ski clothes, gloves, “après-ski” shoes and a good mood are all you need to take on the slopes.
This activity will allow you to have fun alone or with your family and to accompany skiers and snowboarders on the slopes!

#4 The 13 attractions open during the summer
What to do in Chamonix in summer with little ones? Well, go to the amusement park! The Domaine des Planards has 13 different attractions and games for the little ones, but also for the older ones.
Conveniently, you only pay for the rides you want to do with tokens.
Well, I spent a lot of time watching my son playing the mason at the controls of the mechanical digger or racing on the electric motorcycle circuit while my daughter did tricks on the carousel!
Then they grew and we turned to :

- trampolines
- looping rides
- the splash boat
- the giant swing…
What good memories spent with the family! The hardest part was the departure time. We had to negotiate with a snack at the Planards restaurant.
